31 July Puntarenas Costa Rica

Another day - another country!  Today it's Costa Rica and since we were in this port last year I decided to pass on a tour!  We didn't dock until around 8.30, early in fact.  Tours didn't begin until after 10.  George was off on his tour which took him into San Jose, around 6 1/2 hours.  Late breakfast for me, quite a few remained on board but it was so nice to have the ship to ourselves.  Ran into Terri (Mahjong lady from Tamworth) who was handing in her excursion ticket so we both walked into the little town, had a look at the cathedral which was lovely but the town otherwise was fairly basic.  Window displays of clothing were quite amusing, the models had tiaras on their heads!  And the styles were from another era.
Have spent the afternoon reading, talking to the kids on FT, getting updates on the footy from Mrs G (Hawks!) and generally being totally lazy.  A local band did play on the dock for a couple of hours, there were dancers too but not much tune in the music.
George back around 5.30 and when he finishes his piña colada and prawn canapé we're heading up to the Galileo lounge for a drink before dinner with the Swinburnes from Sydney!
Well, the Swinburnes, Jodie and Gary, are lovely, we really enjoyed their company at dinner, and in spite of not being relatives, we will keep in touch.
